Following the successful first, same-title Symposium (Ancient Olympia, August 2006), the present one aims at bringing together researchers, scholars and students from the broad range of disciplines referring to in the Homeric Epics, in an exquisite environment from the point of view of natural beauty and culture to present new findings from the vast scientific and technological knowledge included in the oldest epics of the Western World. Τhe Symposium is supported by authorities and cultural organisations from almost from all of the Ionian Islands, aiming to develop into a Pan-Ionian institution to be repeated at regular intervals in a different island.
